#Today, our Program Coordinator attended the Consultation on the Involvement of Civil Society Organizations in the Implementation and Sustainability of the African Union Compliance and Accountability Framework. The consultation, held from December 4–6, 2023, in Lusaka, Zambia, convened key stakeholders to explore collaborative approaches for ensuring the framework’s effective implementation.

The primary focus of the consultation was to strengthen the role of civil society organizations (CSOs) in prevention and response mechanisms related to the framework. Discussions emphasized the need for increased accountability, transparency, and sustainability in implementing African Union policies, particularly in addressing issues such as governance, human rights, and conflict prevention.

Key outcomes included actionable recommendations on how CSOs can work collaboratively with the African Union to enhance compliance with its standards, ensure that accountability mechanisms are community-driven, and promote long-term, rights-based solutions to pressing challenges across the continent.

We extend our gratitude to @AU_ECOSOCC for facilitating this vital dialogue and providing a platform for civil society to actively contribute to Africa’s governance and development agenda.

At @Kalkalhuman, we remain steadfast in our commitment to advocating for inclusive, sustainable solutions that empower vulnerable communities, strengthen governance structures, and ensure accountability at all levels.
