Our Executive Director, @Qoslaay66, representing @Kalkalhuman, actively participated in the Pan-African Human Rights & Social Justice Conference, held in Nairobi, Kenya. This transformative event convened human rights advocates, civil society leaders, policymakers, and regional stakeholders to address the critical intersection of human rights and counter-terrorism in Africa.

The conference focused on advancing the protection of fundamental rights while addressing the challenges posed by counter-terrorism measures across the continent. Discussions highlighted the need to balance security policies with human rights principles, promote accountability for violations, and ensure that counter-terrorism strategies do not disproportionately target vulnerable communities or undermine social justice.

Key outcomes of the event included actionable recommendations on integrating human rights frameworks into counter-terrorism policies, fostering community-driven solutions to prevent extremism, and building stronger partnerships among African civil society organizations.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the organizers—@civicadvisory, @HakiAfrica, @Spaces4Change, @VOCALAfrica_, @husskhalid, and the @panafrinconference—for creating a platform to advance this critical dialogue.

Our participation reaffirms @Kalkalhuman’s commitment to advocating for inclusive, rights-based approaches that ensure security measures are not only effective but also equitable and just. We remain dedicated to fostering sustainable peace, protecting human dignity, and strengthening civil society’s role in shaping a more just and secure Africa.
