Success Story: Ahmed Mukhtar Mohamed from @YIA,BAIDOA
During the Inclusive Workshop on Land Ownership and Dispute Resolution in Baidoa District, Ahmed Mukhtar Mohamed, a dedicated participant from Group Two, stood out with a powerful and practical presentation on conflict resolution. Ahmed and his group identified a long-standing land dispute between two neighboring families that had escalated over inheritance rights. Drawing from the training sessions and group discussions, Ahmed proposed a community-led mediation process involving local elders, religious leaders, and youth representatives as neutral facilitators. His approach emphasized fairness, cultural values, and inclusive dialogue—ensuring that both women and youth had a voice in the resolution process. Thanks to his leadership and clarity in presenting a solution grounded in community trust and legal awareness, his proposal was widely appreciated. It showcased how grassroots solutions—when inclusive and well-structured—can prevent violence, rebuild relationships, and promote justice. Ahmed’s story demonstrates how empowering local actors with the right knowledge and tools can pave the way for sustainable peace and stronger community cohesion.
