High-Level Reflection on Strengthening Child Protection in Conflict-Affected Areas in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania @30 – 3 Oct 2025

At the just-concluded high-level reflection on strengthening child protection in conflict-affected areas, our Executive Director, @kalkalhuman, was pleased to attend a high-level, impact-driven session organized by the @_AfricanUnion in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This significant event brought together civil society organizations (CSOs) and child protection experts from across Africa, showcasing innovative programs and initiatives from countries including Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Somalia, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Burundi, Congo, Comoros, and Cameroon.

The session was led by Dr. Isabela Warioba, featuring insights from distinguished experts such as Dr. Ntando and Dr. Kijala Shako. Together, they highlighted the critical role of grassroots CSO engagement in transforming policies into actionable strategies, thereby accelerating meaningful change for children in vulnerable communities.

Participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions, reflecting on the next steps required to achieve “An Africa Fit for Children.” They explored ways to empower communities while aligning efforts with the AU Vision 2040 framework.
