During the in-person PSEA training, @Kalkalhuman team member @IsmailMukhtar had the privilege of meeting with George Conway from Canada, the Deputy Special Representative for Somalia within the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM). This meeting provided a valuable opportunity to discuss key developments in Somalia’s humanitarian landscape, particularly in relation to protection and safeguarding efforts. They explored potential avenues for further collaboration, with a shared focus on strengthening mechanisms to prevent sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) and enhancing the overall impact of humanitarian and development initiatives in Somalia. The conversation emphasized the importance of cross-sector cooperation to ensure the safety and dignity of vulnerable communities, particularly women and children, within the country’s complex context.
