Today, our team in Banadir actively participated in the finalization of the PSEA Joint Risk Assessment conducted by SomTrust, with support from UNICEF and WFP. This assessment marks a significant step toward identifying, mitigating, and addressing risks related to Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) in humanitarian and development settings. Strengthening safeguarding measures is essential to ensuring the safety, dignity, and well-being of vulnerable populations, particularly women, children, and other at-risk groups.
As part of our commitment to accountability and protection, we are now preparing for a one-day in-person validation workshop. This workshop will bring together key stakeholders, including government representatives, humanitarian partners, civil society organizations, and community leaders, to review the assessment findings, provide critical feedback, and collaboratively refine strategies to enhance prevention, response, and accountability mechanisms.
At KAHRDO, we firmly believe that safeguarding is a shared responsibility. By working together with our partners, we aim to build a stronger, more resilient system that prioritizes the rights and protection of all individuals. We appreciate the continued support of UNICEF, WFP, and SomTrust in this vital initiative and look forward to translating these findings into actionable steps that will strengthen safeguarding policies, improve reporting mechanisms, and reinforce a zero-tolerance approach to sexual exploitation and abuse in all sectors.
Our efforts will not stop here. Moving forward, we remain dedicated to advocating for the highest ethical and professional standards, fostering a culture of accountability, and ensuring that every person, regardless of their circumstances, can access services in a safe and protective environment.
