Kalkal Human Rights Development Organization conducted a door-to-door campaign in Baidoa IDP camps using the #SASA!Together model to raise awareness and prevent gender-based violence (GBV). This innovative approach focuses on community mobilization and social norm change, engaging residents directly in conversations about GBV and its prevention.
During the campaign, our team visited families in the IDP camps, providing information on women’s rights and the importance of protecting vulnerable individuals from violence. By fostering open dialogue, we aimed to challenge existing social norms that perpetuate GBV and promote a culture of respect and equality.Youth engagement was a critical component of our efforts, as young people play a vital role in driving change within their communities. We encouraged participants to become advocates for gender equality, empowering them to influence their peers and families positively.Through this grassroots initiative, we seek to create a supportive environment where everyone can contribute to ending GBV and ensuring the safety and rights of women and girls in Baidoa.Together, we can make a lasting impact and build a future free from violence.#EndGBV #CommunityMobilization #SocialNormChange #IDPs #WomensRights #ProtectWomen #YouthEngagement #TogetherForChange #GBVPrevention #Baidoa
