Through the support of #UNSomalia, #KalkalHuman team is pleased to have successfully concluded a 2-day training session for case workers aimed at enhancing the monitoring and reporting of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) cases in #Tawakal, Afgoye district, Lower Shabelle region, Somalia.

This training focused on strengthening the capacity of local case workers to identify, document, and support SGBV survivors in a context where gender-based violence is often underreported and overlooked. Participants received specialized guidance on survivor-centered approaches, confidentiality protocols, data collection, and reporting mechanisms that align with international best practices. By enhancing the skills of frontline workers, we aim to improve the quality and accuracy of SGBV case management, which is critical for timely intervention, protection, and long-term support for survivors. The initiative also strengthens collaboration with local authorities, healthcare providers, and legal professionals to ensure a holistic response that prioritizes the safety, dignity, and rights of survivors. We extend our gratitude to #UNSomalia for their unwavering support and to all the participants who are now better equipped to advocate for and protect survivors of gender-based violence in their communities. This is just one step in a long journey, but together, we are making progress towards a more just and equitable society.
